Professional Translators and Linguists
Each professional that approaches Toronto Translation for employment must survive a meticulous review and verification of their academic performance, work history, and theoretical approaches to translation, localization, and business globalization. With few exceptions, every Toronto Translation translator should be language and/or subject certified. The linguists of Toronto Translation are true linguists in the academic sense: they hold Ph.D.'s in linguistics. For example, the leading Chinese linguists of Toronto Translation hail from Peking University and Tsinghua University (the most two distinguished universities in China) with a Ph.D. and teaching experiences in Applied Linguistics.

Certified Translators: The Reality
Toronto Translation has found that certification from bodies such as the American Translator's Association (ATA) demonstrates a commitment to the industry; but it does not indicate how a translator of Toronto Translation performs her or his duty. Our experience indicates that only forty-four (44%) of the certified translators who apply to Toronto Translation have sufficient depth of experience and demonstrated ability to become part of our team. Hiring anything but the best would result in far more RFCs (Requests for Correction) by our Quality Assurance Agents, driving up localization costs.
